TOP OF THE MORNING

There was another TV appearance for historian Rob Fairclough, and Village Voice Fenella Fielding, this week when they both appeared, alongside Falklands hero and charity organiser, Simon Weston, on our screens on Friday 26th August as part of ITV's flagship daytime show "This Morning", the home of showbiz gossip, cookery, and women's advice.

Some time ago, The Unmutual Website was contacted by the Producers regarding the segment, the last part of their "Round Britain" series. We put them in touch with Robert, and he was interviewed live about the series' longevity, as was Fenella, by presenter Becky Mantin (a transcript of parts of these interviews can be seen HERE).

Simon Weston was interviewed about his charity, The Weston Spirit, after being introduced by local celebrity Jonathan Hill. With only 7 of their members turning up, day visitors were recruited to provide background in the form of an unintentionally amusing human-chess game (with only 4 black pieces) organised by the fan club Six of One. At one stage several of them moved sideways all at once, in an attempt to get on camera!

Transcripts of parts of the show can be found HERE, thanks to viewers David Mackenzie and Alan Jones. Click HERE for an interview with Fenella Fielding.
