THIRTY FOR SIX IN TV POLL

After weeks of speculation, Saturday 10th September 2005 saw the aired results of their poll to find the greatest ITV show of all time. The 50 "finalists" were chosen by ITV, with the public invited to vote for their favourites of the 50.

The Prisoner was included in the countdown, in a slightly disappointing 30th place. Clips from "Arrival" and "Fall Out" were shown, interspersed with celebrities' views on the series (including "Arrival" Number Two George Baker). Unsurprisingly, the poll was won by long-running soap-opera Coronation Street.

As part of the ongoing celebrations of ITV50, a promotional film is also being shown depicting famous faces from ITV shows of the past and present conversing at a party. The advert features a superimposed Number Six at a table with newsreader John Suchet (clip taken from "Free For All"). To view this promo, click HERE. The Prisoner section of the 50-countdown can also be seen HERE.
