FRANK MAHER R.I.P.

On Friday 13th July 2007, legendary stuntman and double Frank Maher passed away peacefully after a long battle with Emphysema.

After a few years in the movie industry, with his athletic background, including boxing and martial arts, he drifted into the more specialised field of stunt work. Early films included "The Crimson Pirate" (1952), "Ivanhoe" (1952), and "Moby Dick" (1956).

With the advent of commercial television, ITC began to produce a huge variety of drama and Frank worked on many of these series as well as films such as "The Guns of Navarone".

He will be best remembered by readers of TUW for his work on "Danger Man" and "The Prisoner" as an actor, stunt arranger, and double for Patrick McGoohan. A regular face at Conventions, Frank will be remembered for his tremendous wit, charm, and generosity. He will be greatly missed and TUW sends its sincere condolences to his family and many friends.
