The column seen in the picture to the far left of the bottom row of thumbnails,
is one of several belonging to a set which Sir Clough collected. The other columns
can be seen in Portmeirion, with 4 making up the Gloriette, 1 on the edge of
the Piazza, and one at Chantry Outlook.
A short walk from Plas Brondanw is Clough's Folly.
The Folly also appeared as "The Eye of Orion" in early scenes of the 1983 "Doctor Who" story "The Five Doctors", starring Peter Davison. The gardens at Plas Brondanw also feature, as actor Richard Hurndall is abducted!
