CYNTHIA JONES R.I.P.

It is with much sadness that TUW can report that Cynthia Jones (left), local extra in 'The Prisoner' who appeared in several episodes (including as the Taxi Driver in 'Arrival' and White Queen in 'Checkmate') passed away on Tuesday 11th August 2020, at the age of 92.

A lovely lady with a great sense of humour, Cynthia lived in Borth-y-Gest and as such was a familiar face at 'Prisoner' conventions in the 80s and 90s, alongside her husband Glyn, and had wonderful tales to tell about filming (click HERE for an interview conducted with Cynthia and other extras in 1988).

A very popular local couple, they famously ran Borth-y-Gest's garage, and Porthmadog's travel agency, for several years until their retirement. TUW's thoughts are with Cynthia's daughter and son-in-law Diana and Martin, and her other family and friends, at this sad time.
