PLAY IT AGAIN

Readers may recall that a couple of years ago, a new play explaring the genesis of 'The Prisoner' was due to be performed in Brighton, but was cancelled at the last moment due to unforseen circumstances. Well, it appears the play is now 'all systems go' again!

'The Prisoner' series has been the subject of several stage plays over the years, from a re-imagining of 'Once Upon a Time' in the 1990s, to Brian Gorman's 'Everman' in 2010, to the more recent Paul Gosling's 'Magic Number Six', which explored the relationship between Lew Grade and Patrick McGoohan.

This offering is called 'Who is No. 1?' and is coming to the Brighton Fringe on 8th and 9th May 2023.

Produced by the highly-respected Foundry Group, the play is the latest comedy from the award-winning writing duo Brian Mitchell (co-writer of 'The Ministry of Biscuits') and Joseph Nixon (co-writer of West-End hit 'The Shark Is Broken') which explores the genesis and making of 'The Prisoner' and further explores the McGoohan/Grade relationship.
