DANCE OF THE DREDD

"The Prisoner" is the subject of an in-depth seven page article in the latest issue of "Judge Dredd Megazine". Written by Alistair McGown and profusely illustrated with photographs and artwork, the article covers the background to the TV series, runs through the episodes, and also focuses on the spin-off "Prisoner" novels and comic strips. Bringing
us bang up to date it also mentions Rob Fairclough's Prisoner scripts book, and The Unmutual Website.

"The Prisoner" is an appropriate feature for the Megazine. With Judge Dredd being a future cop in a totalitarian state, issues of personal freedom versus state control are often the themes of the comic strips.

Judge Dredd Megazine recently celebrated its 15th anniversary (although the character of Dredd dates back to 1977) and in recent years began running articles on media subjects such as this month's "Prisoner" retrospective.
Judge Dredd Megazine #238 is on sale 19th October until 15th November from WH Smiths and other newsagents in the UK at £4.50 for 84 pages. Official website: http://www.2000adonline.com/
