WINTER VILLAGE UPDATE

The ongoing improvements and safety modifications in Portmeirion continued apace in December and January, and we are indebted to several readers of The Unmutual who have been submitting photographs of the recent changes in the village.

The most notable of these is the extending in height of the ballustrade to the front of the main hotel building, following demands from Gwynedd County Council to do so. After a new coat of paint, we feel the new wall to be inkeeping with the original design, and considering the excessive demands of the council of late, Portmeirion have done well in restricting the changes to a minimum.

UPDATE 25/2/06: More images have been added since the above news item, including those of the fully painted ballustrade and other improvements.
