BRANDED

Arguably Patrick McGoohan's finest performance was that of Ibsen's Brand, which he played at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, in the late 1950s (and years later would unsuccessfully attempt to turn into a feature film).

Fans of this piece of work, and McGoohan's tour-de-force performance, were delighted with TUW's recent announcement that it would twice be shown during an Ibsen season at the National Film Theatre in London.

On the 1st and 16th of October, the BBC adaptation of the play was be screened at the NFT2, with attendees given a free programme which included TUW's review of the play, written by Brian Watson.

The DVD of the BBC version shown by the NFT was released in 2001.
