BASIL HOSKINS R.I.P.
It
is with much sadness that we bring you news that Prisoner guest-star Basil
Hoskins, who so memorably played the part of Number 14 in the Episode "Hammer
Into Anvil", died on January 17th 2005. He was 75.
Although principally a theatre actor, with a particular fondness and aptitude for Shakespeare and musical theatre in a long and distinguished stage career, he also starred in the TV Series "The Avengers", "The New Avengers", and "Emergency Ward 10" and the films "Ice Cold in Alex" and "The Millionnairess". But it is his role as the right-hand man to Patrick Cargill's sadistic Number Two in "Hammer Into Anvil" that he will be best remembered by readers of this website.
